One in six retirees have no workplace pension

Jonathan Watts-Lay, Director, WEALTH at work comments, “This research is very alarming – it is important that employees not only understand what their options are when saving towards retirement but that they are also clear on how to manage their finances to ensure they can afford to save. We work with many companies to help ensure their employees are provided with the appropriate financial education to achieve this, often by maximising tax breaks in the workplace such as salary sacrifice. Many employees could save more if they understood the options available to them. More companies now realise the power of financial education to drive value for employees so hopefully more employees will see an improved picture in the future.”
