Individuals in a defined benefit (DB) pension scheme (also known as a final salary pension) have the option to transfer to a defined contribution pension.  This may be attractive to those who want flexible-access over their pension. But transferring from a DB pension scheme can mean that you will be giving up valuable guaranteed benefits and you might find yourself worse off.
