Kevin, age 58, first attended a WEALTH a work retirement seminar at his place of work, a leading FTSE 100 company, in 2012. However, after the pension changes were introduced in April 2015, bringing a whole new range of retirement income options to consider, Kevin decided to attend a second seminar.
He comments, “I wanted to understand my options since the pension changes. The seminar gave me an appreciation of what I could do. I wasn’t aware of some of the tax implications of taking money out of pensions and how easy it could be to make significant mistakes. The seminar really helped me to understand this.”
Following the seminar Kevin had a one-to-one appointment with a my wealth Adviser. On this he says, “My Adviser was very helpful and had great working knowledge of my company’s saving schemes. I was provided with a report following the meeting and I found the framework and structure of it very helpful. It was interesting to see what I could do with the different pots of money I had accumulated.”
Since his meeting Kevin decided to appoint my wealth to manage his savings. He comments, “Planning for retirement is like a journey. I feel secure that I’m on the right flight path, knowing where I’m going to land when I reach retirement, rather than it being a surprise destination. I really like that an annual review is included as part of the service. It’s great that someone is keeping an eye on my savings, as I want to be able to relax when I reach retirement.”
