share scheme modeller.

The Share Scheme Modeller (SSM) is an interactive online tool that presents generic tax and investment planning options to your employees. It illustrates how they can mitigate or even eliminate their tax liability on employer sponsored share schemes.

Employees registered on Save As You Earn (SAYE) schemes and Share Incentive Plans (SIPs) can investigate the effects tax will have on the value of their schemes both before and after their scheme matures or reaches its anniversary date.

The box opposite/below summarises the employees journey through the Share Scheme Modeller.

six short steps.

1.  Your employees choose the share scheme(s) relevant to them
2.  The SSM calculates the current value of their scheme(s)
3.  They choose to view the financial effects of:

  • Exercising their option, for schemes with no maturity
  • Requesting repayment of all their savings

4.  Two contrasting scenarios are illustrated:

  • Selling all their shares with no planning
  • Contributing the full value of their share scheme(s) to a Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP)

5.  Your employees can tailor the information shown to reflect their tax allowances and preferred usage of ISAs and/or SIPPs
6.  A detailed summary of the modelled information is presented

Through a link to www.wealthatwork.co.uk your employees can progress their enquiries online. Or, if they have £20,000 or more to invest (such as from maturing share schemes and legacy pensions), they can request a face-to-face meeting with one of our Strategic Investment Planners.

The SSM, which incorporates your company scheme and share data, is:

  • Available on demand through a link from your company intranet
  • Simple to use and easy to understand
  • Designed to current tax and share scheme regulations
  • Usable by non-GBP denominated share schemes.
